Community Partnerships

The Stanford Conservation Program often collaborates with Magic and Grassroots Ecology, two local environmental non-profits. They have been major contributors over the last several decades to managing vegetation on undeveloped lands owned by Stanford. Both organizations recruit volunteers and staff members who help support native plant biodiversity. Their efforts are crucial across a landscape heavily impacted by historic human use, climate change, and invasive species.

Volunteers weed non-native invasive species, plant native plants, and nurture planted seedlings and sapplings. If you are interested in conserving native plant communities in the Stanford foothills, please consult our events calendar ('Upcoming Events') or contact prestonk@stanford.edu. We are always grateful for the helping hands both Magic and Grassroots Ecology organize— many projects could not be completed without their help!
